LEADING AND MANAGING IN THE DIGITAL ERA

Reinventing Organizations, Work, and Human Judgment in the Age of AI

This is the third LMDE conference, building on the success of the 2023 and 2025 editions. It is unique in bringing together leaders and researchers from industry and academia to discuss new results on management and leadership in the digital era, and the impact of AI on business and on education. It is a special venue because it spans a broad range of disciplines whose common thread is AI, giving participants a genuinely interdisciplinary experience — increasingly needed as a catalyst for innovation and problem solving.

Testimonials: What participants said about LMDE-2023 & LMDE-2025

The discussions taking place in Athens and Syros will strongly contribute to reshape the business model of Business Schools allowing them to face the current challenges deriving from the digital revolution!
Prof. Vincenzo Capizzi
Università del Piemonte Orientale, Italy
Last summer’s LMDE Conference was great! The sessions were both personally and professionally rewarding, and participants loved the good balance between professional and social that allowed them to make new friendships and new working relationships. It’s not surprising that everyone wanted to come back. Perhaps uniquely, after the conference several graduate students continued to work with senior faculty they met at the conference to complete preparing the students’ papers for publication.
Prof. Eric Clemons
The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA
LMDE is the platform in recent years to exchange ideas and learn about the most up-to-date advances in AI and digital transformation. A wonderful balance between social, academic, and innovative experiences.
Prof. GJ de Vreede
Dean, Stevens School of Business, USA
As technologies such as AI redefine the way we learn and innovate, it is important to have venues like LMDE that bring together people from diverse backgrounds and across academia, industry and policy to exchange ideas and learn from each other. Challenges and opportunities require horizontal and vertical thinking across multiple areas and communities. This was a wonderful conference that was extremely well organized and provided an opportunity to create new relations.
Prof. Theodore Evgeniou
Professor and Director, INSEAD Executive Education Program on Transforming your Business with AI, INSEAD, France
LMDE provided a thoroughly provoking meeting to discuss the pressing issues presented by AI.
Prof. Nial Friel
Professor and Head of School of Mathematics and Statistics, University College Dublin, Ireland
The best conference ever!
Dr. Leonie Hallo
Adelaide Business School, Australia
High intellectual level of the conference.
Prof. Jannis Kallinikos
Emeritus Professor, London School of Economics, UK
Leading and managing in the digital era is different than leading and managing in the past. The LMDE Conference provided insightful discussions about these topics, not just from analysis of the “as-is,” but more so by providing possible paths for the futures to come.
Prof. Helmut Krcmar
Technische Universität München, Germany
The conference was a great interdisciplinary experience and gathering to discuss issues that relate to digitalization and business. I learned a lot of common challenges across disciplines and schools and how they are responding to the challenges, and I also made new connections and sustained some old ones. Great experience overall.
Prof. Kalle Lyytinen
Distinguished University Professor and Chair, Department of Design & Innovation, Case Western Reserve University, USA
LMDE brings together a tremendous community of scholars from whom I always learn a lot.
Prof. Nikos Mylonopoulos
Professor, Alba Graduate School of Business, Greece
LMDE turned out to be an excellent opportunity to form new connections. It enabled me to drive business opportunities in very unexpected ways.
Magnus Nyden
Executive Director, AstraZeneca, Sweden
A great conference with the timeliest topics bridging academia and business, and setting directions for the future of business education.
Prof. Klas Eric Soderquist
Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece
The inaugural LMDE conference in Athens and Syros was a boutique conference providing a unique opportunity to scholars and practitioners around the world across various disciplines to meet and discuss the future of work and business education in the digital era. The small size of the conference provided a unique opportunity to interact and engage with various participants, and the venues were exceptional.
Prof. Michael Tsiros
Centennial Endowed Chair and Director, Marketing Lab, University of Miami, USA
